For smaller organisations, it's unusual to have a Human Resources function, so I provide this support as an outsourced service on an ad hoc basis. For my fixed-rate clients I create a package tailored to their needs. 
Each year they can budget for my services safe in the knowledge that in addition to helping with longer term projects, I am essentially on-call to answer their queries and step in with additional support. 
In an ideal world, the right staff would be hired every time and they would be happy, healthy assets to the business. Well, the best way to achieve that ideal is with appropriate planning and management, not hope. 
I also provide support on a case-by-case basis in the fields of recruiting, training and dispute resolution. 
A good place to start is the basic building blocks of an HR Assessment. 
This means I'll go through what your business does for you, understand what people processes you might already have in place and flag up the areas where professional HR advice could help and add value.

A bit about me  

I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (FCIPD), with a Masters Degree in Strategic Human Resource Management. I'm also a Certified NLP Practitioner. 
I have over thirty years of senior level HR experience, dealing with an extremely varied range of complex, confidential and sensitive people management issues. 
I am very honoured to have this new addition to the Alan R. Jones fleet named after me...! 
Among other routes, this impressive vehicle will be trunking to and from the Palletline network hub in Birmingham. 

Charity Dinner 

I was delighted to attend a charity dinner in aid of the Velindre Cancer Centre at the end of March, where Alan R. Jones & Sons Ltd presented a £3,000 cheque to support this worthy cause... 
As Head of HR for a regional building society and local Housing Association, I devised and implemented strategic people plans working collaboratively with other senior leaders. I have also managed interim project assignments in reward, recruitment, diversity and inclusion. 
I'm a big sports fan so, in addition to running my own business, I also carry out a voluntary role as President of the Gloucestershire County Netball Association.
